The Japanese government has decided to allocate another $300 million in financial assistance to Ukraine for humanitarian needs. This was announced by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, reports NHK.
“To date, we have allocated $300 million in financial support to Ukraine. it was decided to double this amount and bring it up to $600 million,” the HEAD of the Japanese government said.

Kishida noted that Japan, as a member of the G7, is helping Ukraine. He also said that he will detail steps to support the Ukrainian side during an upcoming meeting with US President Joe Biden, who will visit Japan next week, as well as during the Quadruple Security Dialogue (Quad) summit with the leaders of Japan, the United States, Australia. and India, which will also be held in Tokyo.
In mid-May, a meeting was held between the foreign ministers of the G7 countries, which, in addition to Japan and the United States, includes Great Britain, Germany, CANADA, Italy and France. The parties agreed to increase military and financial assistance to Ukraine, as well as to increase economic pressure on RUSSIA.
The G7 countries also said they were going to intensify efforts as soon as possible to reduce dependence on Russian energy sources, including coal and oil.
