US approves use of Pfizer vaccine for teens

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of the coronavirus vaccine produced by Pfizer and BioNTech for adolescents 12-15 years old, according to the regulator's website.

"The FDA's expansion of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 emergency use approval for adolescents aged 12 to 15 is an important step in the fight against the pandemic," Acting FDA Chief Janet Woodcock said in a statement.
