The Ministry of Health reported the negative impact of COVID on reproductive function

Studies have shown that those who have recovered from COVID-19in men, the energy of sperm mitochondria has decreased, which can reduce reproductive function. The influence of the virus was discovered even at the level of in-depth genetic studies

The spermatozoa of men who have recovered from the coronavirus have genetic abnormalities that negatively affect reproductive function, Academician Leyla Adamyan, chief freelance gynecologist of the Ministry of Health, said on Radio Russia.

“The energy of mitochondria turned out to be reduced, which indirectly suggests that these men may have reduced reproductive activity in the future,” said Adamyan.

"Sputnik V" did not have a negative impact on male reproduction Society

She explained that the researchers took two groups of men - those who had been ill with the coronavirus and those who had been vaccinated. Both groups had spermograms taken before and after they got sick or vaccinated, and also underwent RNA sequestration.

COVID-19 has affected “even simple sperm counts,” says Adamyan. According to her, the influence was found, including "at the level of in-depth genetic studies." At the same time, the gynecologist noted that no changes were found in the vaccinated both in the general status and during RNA sequestration.
