The Olympics are entering their 11th day of competition. RBC Sport reports on the Paris Games live. Mijaín López Núñez. Medals will be awarded in which sports on August 6:

11:45 PM. The semifinal bouts in the 50 kg weight class took place in boxing. China's Wu Yu defeated Kazakhstan's Nazym Kyzaibay (4-1), while Turkey's Buse Cakıroglu defeated Filipina Aira Villegas (5-0).

Kyzaibay and Villegas will receive bronze medals.

23:30. The Italian women's volleyball team reached the Olympic semi-finals, defeating Serbia with a score of 3:0 (26:24, 25:20, 25:20).

The Italian team includes former Russian Ekaterina Antropova, who was granted Italian citizenship in the summer of 2023.

In the match against Serbia, 21-year-old Antropova scored five points. Italy will play Turkey in the semifinals.

Antropova was born in Iceland to basketball player Mikhail Antropov and handball player Olga Antropova. The family later moved to St. Petersburg , where she began playing volleyball. At the age of 14, the volleyball player moved to Italy. In 2017, she was included in the extended roster of the Russian U16 national team. However, she never played for the team.

11:10 PM. The semifinal bouts in the 71 kg boxing weight class took place. Uzbekistan's Asadhuja Muidinhujaev defeated American Omari Jones (3-2), while Mexico's Marco Verde defeated Britain's Lewis Richardson (3-2).

Jones and Richardson will receive bronze medals.

23:05. Meerim Zhumanazarova failed to bring Kyrgyzstan its first Olympic gold medal, losing to American Amit Elor in the women's 68 kg wrestling final.

Bronze medals were awarded to Buse Tosun ( Turkey ) and Nonoka Ozaki ( Japan ).

In Greco-Roman wrestling in the 60 kg weight category, gold was won by Japanese Kenichiro Fumita, who defeated Chinese Cao Liguo ( CHINA ) in the final.

Bronze medals went to Lee Se-woon (DPRK) and Zholaman Sharshenbekov (Kyrgyzstan).

22:45. American Gabrielle Thomas won gold in the 200m (21.83 seconds).

Second place went to the Paris 100m champion Julienne Alfred from Saint Lucia (22.08), and bronze went to another American, Brittany Brown (22.20).

22:42. Bahrain's Winfred Yawi won gold at the Paris Olympics in the 3000m steeplechase.

In the final, she clocked 8 minutes 52.76 seconds, a new Olympic record. Yavi bested Russian Gulnara Galkina-Samitova's 2008 Olympic record of 8:58.81.

Uganda's Perut Chemutai took second place (8.53.34), while Kenyan Faith Cherotich came in third (8.55.15).

10:40 PM. Greek Miltiadis Tentoglou won the long jump (8.48 m). Jamaican Wayne Pinnock placed second (8.36 m), and Italian Mattia Furlani came in third (8.34 m).

22:20. After the final match, Mijain Lopez Nunes removed his wrestling shoes and left them in the center of the mat, thereby announcing his retirement.

10:15 PM. In the women's hammer throw, Camryn Rogers of CANADA won gold (76.97). American Annette Echikunwoke took second place (75.48), and China's Zhao Jie came in third (74.27).

Three-time Olympic champion, 38-year-old Pole Anita Wlodarczyk took only fourth place (74.23).

22:10. Cuban Mijaín López Núñez became the first-ever five-time Olympic wrestling champion!!!

The 41-year-old athlete defeated Chile's Yasmani Acosta Fernandez in the final of the Greco-Roman wrestling competition in the 130 kg weight category in Paris.

10:00 PM. The 1500m final ended with a sensation: American Cole Hawker won gold with an Olympic record (3:27.65).

Second place went to Briton Josh Kerr (3:27.79), and third place to American Yared Nuguse (3:27.80).

Tokyo Olympic champion Norwegian Jacob Ingebrigtsen finished only fourth (3:28.24).

9:30 PM. The Olympic surfing tournament concluded today.

21:25. In track cycling, the Netherlands team won Olympic gold with a world record in the team sprint (40.949), their second of the day.

The British came in second, and the Australians came in third.

In the speed climbing preliminary competition, American Sam Watson also broke the world record today – 4.75 seconds.

9:20 PM. The French national basketball team unexpectedly defeated Team Canada with a score of 82:73 in the quarterfinal match of the Olympic tournament in Paris.

France will face Germany , the reigning world champions, in the semifinals. Serbia will face either the usa or Brazil in the second semifinal.

9:00 PM: A Swedish journalist has been banned from covering the Paris Olympics after she deliberately bumped into Chinese table tennis superstar Wang Chuqin.

8:30 PM. Two more athletes have tested positive for E. coli after swimming in the Seine. These are two New Zealanders, including Hayden Wild, who took second place in the individual event at the Olympics.

8:00 PM. Two-time Olympic champion Joshua Cheptegei of Uganda withdrew from the 5,000m race in Paris, where he holds the world record.

Last week, Cheptegei won gold at the 2024 Olympic Games in the 10,000m.

"I'm proud to have won gold in the 10,000m. This medal completes my collection after winning the World Championships and setting a world record. After discussing it with my team, we decided it would be best for me not to compete in the 5,000m. Thank you all for your support, and see you soon," said 27-year-old Cheptegei.

19:50. Today's sailing medal competition has been postponed until tomorrow due to weather conditions.

7:40 PM. Japan's Kokona Hiraki won silver in the park skateboarding competition. In the final, 15-year-old Hiraki scored 92.63 points in the best of her three attempts.

Hiraki won a medal in her second Olympics. In Tokyo, at the age of 12, she won silver, becoming the youngest medalist at the Games in 85 years.

The victory in Paris was won by 14-year-old Australian skateboarder Arisa True (93.18), with 16-year-old British skater Skye Brown (92.31) coming in third.

The youngest athlete in Paris, 11-year-old Zheng Haohao of China, finished 18th in the qualifying round and failed to reach the final. She became China's youngest ever Olympic representative.

17:50. The Serbian national basketball team defeated the Australian team in overtime in the quarterfinal match of the Olympic tournament in Paris.

The Serbs, one of the Olympic favorites, trailed by 24 points in the second quarter. They managed to tie the game and even take the lead, but with a second and a half left in the fourth quarter, Patty Mills sent the game into overtime with a two-pointer. The Serbs finally managed to put the squeeze on their opponents in the extra five minutes.

Nikola Jokic scored 21 points, had 14 rebounds and eight assists.

17:10. In the 10-meter diving competition, China's Quan Hongchan won gold (425.60). Her compatriot Chen Yuxi took second place (420.70), and North Korea's Kim Mi Rae came in third (372.10).

China's team, with 22 gold medals, once again surpassed the United States in the Olympic medal count.

16:25.

16:15. Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced that he will not attend the closing ceremony of the Olympics after the organizers stripped Romanian gymnast Ana Maria Barbosu of her bronze medal in the floor exercise.

3:55 PM. More than 40 athletes have contracted CORONAVIRUS at the Olympics.
The WHO noted that covid-19 cases have been on the rise in many countries in recent months, so it's not surprising that athletes in Paris are also becoming infected.

3:00 PM. The IBA has released details of the gender conformity testing conducted by boxers Iman Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yuting of Taiwan.

The IBA statement noted that Khelif and Yuting underwent gender testing following complaints from several coaches. The statement also noted that the first gender test was conducted in May 2022 (the IBA suspended them only a year later). "Blood samples were collected on May 17, 2022 <...>. The laboratory found results that did not meet the IBA women's competition eligibility criteria," the statement read.

The IBA noted that it had informed representatives of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) about the test results, “but there was no response from the IOC.”

The association explains that it did not immediately take any action against the athletes because it deemed the results of just one test insufficient. A repeat test was conducted on March 17, 2023, and the results were "absolutely identical."

2:30 PM. Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso denied her expulsion from the Olympic Village. She stated that she left the village of her own free will and asked that rumors not be spread.

The swimmer was initially accused of "distracting other competitors through her communication and provocative clothing," creating an "inappropriate environment" in the Olympic Village with her behavior.

1:58 PM. In the individual show jumping competition, German Christian Koekuk won gold. Switzerland's Steve Guerdat placed second, and the Netherlands' Maikel van der Vleuten third.

13:50. The German national team, the reigning world champion in basketball, easily defeated the Greek team with a score of 76:63 in the quarterfinals of the Olympic tournament in Paris.

Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner scored 18 points. The Greeks couldn't keep up with the 22-point efforts of two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo.

1:45 PM. In Paris, South Sudan's deputy sports minister had her bag containing $35,000 stolen. The money was intended for expenses for the South Sudanese delegation at the Olympics. The official also lost jewelry, her phone, her passport, and her accreditation for the competition.

1:40 PM. Water quality in the Seine prevented Olympic athletes from training for the open water swimming tournament on August 6.

13:30. The cat did his best to help the gymnast at the Olympics.
