One of the developers of the EpiVacCorona CORONAVIRUS vaccine from the Novosibirsk Scientific Center Vector of Rospotrebnadzor turned out to be the HEAD of the department, Anna Popova, follows from the description of the patent for the drug, published on the website of Rospatent. The Novaya Gazeta drew attention to this.
Rospotrebnadzor confirmed to the publication that we are really talking about the head of the department. “As a DOCTOR of medical sciences, Anna Yuryevna Popova participated in the development of the drug in terms of the use of the vaccine in the population,” they said.
In total, 12 people are listed as the authors of the patent, mainly members of the Scientific Council of Vector. Among them are the DIRECTOR of the center Rinat Maksyutov, his deputies Elena Gavrilova and Elena Nechaeva, the leading researcher of the department of genomic research Ilnaz Imatdinov, the head of the department of zoonotic infections and influenza Alexander Ryzhikov, the head of the Institute of Medical Biotechnology (a branch of Vector) Elena Danilenko and others.

Also among the authors is Evgeny Ryzhikov, the son of Alexander Ryzhikov and the general director of Epivak LLC. They are “directly the ideological inspirers” of EpiVacKorona, Maksyutov said in March at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin. According to the public procurement website, on February 3, Epivac signed a contract with Vector for the supply of peptide antigens and test systems, as well as services for purification and activation of the carrier protein.
