Forever and without access: how to delete a TikTok account

When deleting a TikTok account for the first 30 days, it will simply be hidden from other users. During this period, you can still cancel your selection and restore it. To restore a deleted profile, you will need to enter your credentials and select "Undeactivate". If the user has lost access to the linked phone number, they will need to contact support to deactivate their account. After deleting an account, as the service promises, information about the user will be stored only in an anonymized form.

How to delete a TikTok account

Basically, users access TikTok through an application on a smartphone. The process for deleting an account on iOS and Android devices is identical.

To delete an account, you need:

click "Profile" in the lower right corner of the screen; select the icon with three lines in the upper right corner; click "Settings and privacy"; select "Manage account" < "Delete account"; the social network will display the deletion conditions and ask you to confirm your decision using the "Continue" button; a confirmation code will be sent to the phone linked to the account, and after entering it, the "Delete account" button will appear.

To delete a TikTok account from a PC, you will need to log in to the Android emulator, a special program for working with mobile applications. The further algorithm of actions will be similar to the previous one.

How to make a TikTok profile private

For those who doubt whether to delete a profile or are worried about privacy, there is an option to save an account in TikTok. At the same time, you can clean up personal information and make the page private. This requires:

delete all clips individually, delete subscribers and cancel all subscriptions, select the "Privacy" item in the settings and turn the slider to an inactive state, enable "Private account".

After that, you can also contact support to submit a request to delete your account.
