The United States is "like a hawk" following developments in Moldova and Transnistria, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said during a speech before the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The broadcast was conducted by the press service of the US State Department.

“To put it simply, we are following this like a hawk,” Blinken said, noting that he recently visited Chisinau.

He said the United States is providing financial assistance to Moldova in a number of different areas, including security, and is working with the UN and other international organizations to ensure that “appropriate resources are allocated to help Moldova” cope with the influx of refugees from Ukraine.

“And, of course, we also ensure that our European allies and partners focus on the challenges and threats against Moldova,” the Secretary of State stressed.

The head of the unrecognized Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky, announced the involvement of "Ukrainian combat groups" in the incident, which, by their actions, want to drag the republic into the conflict.

On April 27, messages appeared in Telegram channels about a general mobilization being prepared in Pridnestrovie, but later the head of the unrecognized republic denied this information. “Provocateurs allow themselves to talk about what is happening in the world, including in Pridnestrovie, voicing out loud fantasies and conjectures that have nothing to do with Pridnestrovian reality,” Krasnoselsky wrote on Telegram.
