US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has tested positive for the coronavirus, State Department spokesman Ned Price said during a briefing.

“Secretary Blinken has tested positive for covid. The good news is that he was fully vaccinated, he received a booster shot against the virus and has only mild symptoms,” Price said, noting that the Secretary of State has not met with President Joe Biden in person for several days.

A State Department spokesman specified that Blinken would be in quarantine and working from home.

This time she had "mild symptoms" but had to refuse to accompany Biden on a trip to Europe. The president himself also passed the test, since he met with Psaki twice the day before - as a result, Biden's result was negative.

According to Johns Hopkins University, during the pandemic in the United States, coronavirus was found in 81.5 million Americans, about 996 thousand people died.
