Qatar is exploring the possibility of Belarusian enterprises participating in ensuring the country's food security

July 24, Minsk . Qatar is interested in Belarusian food products. Charge d'Affaires of Belarus in Qatar Aleksei Malafei told journalists, BELTA reports.

Alexey Malafey noted that the two countries have a long history of cooperation in the political and trade-economic spheres. Now Belarus and Qatar are focused on its development, increasing investments and exports.

"The Qatari side is interested in our food products . For the first time in March, we brought nine Belarusian enterprises to Qatar - they participated in the exhibition. There is interest in dry milk, butter, cottage cheese, chicken eggs. The Qatari side sees this as an opportunity for our producers to participate in ensuring food security in Qatar," he said.

The diplomat recalled that since March, Belavia Airlines has been operating charter flights to the capital of Qatar, Doha. "We are interested in not only tourists from Belarus flying to Qatar, but also Qatari tourists flying to Belarus. Doha could also become an important passenger hub," the chargé d'affaires noted.
