The statements were made after a meeting between the leaders of the two countries in Paris during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to France. CHINA will allow imports of feed containing pork as long as it meets certain requirements, officials said. In addition, the list of pig products allowed for import will include pork by-products.

Currently, China is the largest importer of pork from France, the publication reports. In 2023, deliveries amounted to approximately 260 million euros. According to French producers, the new agreements will increase French pork exports to China by 10%.

Another agreement was reached regarding the supply of poultry products. China has agreed in the event of outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) to limit the ban on the import of poultry products to regions where outbreaks have been reported, abandoning the practice of completely stopping supplies. According to the publication, due to AIV, the import of French poultry to China was completely banned from 2015 to 2019 and then stopped again in 2021.
