
According to reports from Merco Press, Brazilian fresh and frozen pork exports increased by 20.3% in February 2021, while revenue increased by 19.9%. Deliveries increased to 81,100 tons compared to 67,400 tons in the same period in 2020. Revenue reached $185.7 million in February 2021, up from $154.9 million in 2020.
In the first two months of 2021, total pork exports from Brazil amounted to 144,200 tons, up 6.12% compared to the same period in 2020. Revenue also increased 4.1% over the period to $332.2 million.
Ricardo Santin, president of ABPA, the Brazilian Animal Breeders' Association, said: "In addition to strong demand in Asian markets, we had strong sales growth in South America this month with positive balances in almost all destinations in the region."
CHINA has become the main market for Brazilian pork. it imported 41,600 tons in February, up 34% from the same period in 2020. EXPORT figures also rose sharply in the markets of Brazil's South American neighbors - in Chile up to 4,500 tons (+ 73.5%), in Argentina up to 2,000 tons (+ 15%).
