March 23, Gomel. Law enforcement officers of the Gomel region carried out preventive work with almost 3,000 citizens in half a month, BelTA learned from the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Gomel regional executive committee.
In the Gomel region, as well as throughout the country, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in cooperation with other departments and structures, from March 5 to 25, is carrying out a set of additional measures to prevent serious and especially serious crimes against life and HEALTH.
According to Anatoly Vasiliev, First Deputy HEAD of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee, in just 15 days, police officers in the region carried out preventive work with 2,963 people. These are the citizens who previously fell into the field of view of law enforcement officers. The complex is held with the participation of prosecutors, members of voluntary teams, medical workers, representatives of social services and the clergy.
More than fifty group events were also held with citizens who are on various preventive records in the Department of Internal Affairs. In total, about 800 people took part in them. At such meetings, the focus is on the inadmissibility of committing unlawful acts, employment issues are discussed.
More than 300 people who committed offenses while intoxicated or against a family member were heard at 73 council meetings of public law enforcement posts. "In connection with the commission of illegal actions, 368 persons were issued official warnings. 24 of this number still lead an asocial lifestyle," law enforcement officers added. Also, 45 family brawlers were given protective orders, which provide for a number of restrictions aimed at preventing the commission of unlawful acts against family members. Among them is the demand to leave the dwelling where they live together with the victim of violence.
“The police of the region, together with representatives of healthcare institutions, provided assistance to 43 people suffering from ALCOHOL addiction. 98 people sentenced to compulsory security measures and treatment were delivered to a narcologist. 90 citizens were sent to medical commissions to resolve the issue of sending them to a medical and labor dispensary. For half a month of this work, by a COURT decision, 41 people were sentenced to be sent to LTP, of which three people lead an asocial lifestyle," the police department said.
Together with representatives of the housing and communal services and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 129 households with a reputation as a hangout were checked. Preventive conversations were held with their residents, individual preventive measures were taken. Also, if necessary, they offered assistance in finding a job.
