Don agrarians receive grants for the creation and development of farms

The volume of grant support for farmers in the Rostov region in 2022 will amount to almost 250 million rubles.
The Don Ministry of Agriculture and Food held competitive selections for Agrostartup grants and grants for the development of family farms in 2022.
According to the Don Agrarian Department, 17 applications were received for the Agrostartup grant, of which 15 individual entrepreneurs were recognized as winners of the competition, for a total amount of over 52 million rubles. Among them are seven projects for the breeding of beef cattle and one for the breeding of dairy cattle, five projects for growing cereals and two projects for the production of vegetables.
18 applications were received to receive a grant for the development of family farms, of which 15 individual entrepreneurs were recognized as winners of the competition, for a total amount of almost 170 million rubles. Among the applicants are 13 farms that plan to develop cattle breeding farms for beef cattle, and two that are aimed at breeding dairy cattle. From June 1 to June 3, the Don Ministry of Agriculture and Food will also accept applications from those wishing to receive a grant for the development of a family farm.
“Almost eight thousand farmers and individual entrepreneurs are registered in the Rostov region, and every tenth of them is a recipient of grant support,” said Victor Goncharov, first deputy governor of the Don region. - Over the ten years from 2012 to 2021, almost 860 farmers in the region received grants for the creation and development of farms in the amount of about 2.6 billion rubles. The volume of grant support for Don farmers in 2022 will amount to almost 250 million rubles. However, farms can use the whole wide range of other types of state support for farmers. The volume of financing for the small sector of agribusiness on the Don annually amounts to about 30% of the total volume of the agro-industrial complex, or 1.3 billion rubles. I note that at the same time, the share of gross output in the total volume of agricultural production in the region is also growing:
So, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the region, in 2021, the growth in the production of grain crops by farms amounted to more than 9%, meat almost 14%, milk - 16%.
The social significance of grant support is also important. During 2012-2021, the program participants created about 1,700 jobs in the rural areas of the region. In addition, it is worth noting that out of the total number of participants, 90 farms are run by large families with 225 children. And almost 280 farms have been created and are being developed by young farmers under the age of 35.
In recent years, the system of concessional lending has become an effective support measure. The average size of a preferential short-term loan for small businesses is more than 5 million rubles. This year, authorized banks have already issued more than 2.1 billion rubles of concessional loans to representatives of small agribusiness.
