Russian Positive Technologies responded to falling under US sanctions

The inclusion by the US Department of Commerce of the Russian company Positive Technologies in the list of malicious companies does not pose a threat to the company's business. This was reported to RBC in the press service of the company.

“On what basis the US Department of Commerce included us in this list, we do not know, in any case, we won back the sanctions risks earlier, and now they do not pose additional threats to us,” said Denis Baranov, CEO of the company.

The press service of the company noted that the message of the US Department of Commerce is not a new event, and earlier similar statements have no effect on their business. “All our plans for business development, release of new technologies, fulfillment of obligations to customers and partners and, in particular, entry into the public market will be implemented unchanged,” Positive Technologies emphasized.

Positive Technologies works in the field of information security. On November 3, the US Department of Commerce placed it on the list of companies whose activities are contrary to the interests of national security or foreign policy of the country. “Positive Technologies <...> was included in this list on the basis that its cyber tools were used to gain unauthorized access to information systems, that it threatens the privacy and security of individuals and organizations around the world,” the agency said in a statement. In addition to the Russian company, three more companies were included in this list - Computer Security Initiative Consultancy from Singapore, NSO Group and Candiru from Israel.
