Peskov responded to US sanctions with the phrase "they talk about one thing, they do another"

The Kremlin would like to understand the actions of the United States , which "say one thing, do another," presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Interfax. So he answered the question of whether Washington's new sanctions will affect Moscow's decision on a possible meeting between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden.

“We need to figure it out. Colleagues are the same as always. They talk about one thing, do another. <...> Let's see how it will be better for us," he said.

On the evening of May 21, the US Treasury added to the sanctions list several Russian companies and vessels associated with the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. Mortransservice, FGBU Maritime Rescue Service, Samara Heat and Power Property Fund, Koksokhimtrans, vessels Akademik Chersky, Yuri Topchev, Vladislav Strizhov and others were subject to restrictions.

According to the US Treasury Department, sanctions against the Marine Rescue Service affect only activities related to the gas pipeline, interaction with the institution on other issues is allowed.
