Vologda medicine returns to normal operation

Planned medical care was partially suspended in January due to the pandemic, and now it will begin to be provided again.

Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov stated this today at a weekly operational meeting in the regional government. According to the press service of the HEAD of the region, from February 24, residents will again begin to receive medical care in hospitals, and from February 28 - on an outpatient basis.

During the day, 2398 cases of CORONAVIRUS infection were detected in the region. A week earlier, the daily incidence was 2650 cases. The distribution coefficient in the region today is 0.99%. Monohospitals are almost 83% full.

“The fact that the Vologda region has reached a plateau in daily incidence allows us today to remove a number of measures. However, a decrease in the incidence rate does not mean that the coronavirus has left us. The issue of further lifting of restrictions will be raised as the epidemiological situation in the region improves,” said Oleg Kuvshinnikov.

He reminded the residents of Vologda about the need to develop collective immunity, emphasizing that vaccination remains a reliable means of preventing the virus, reduces the risk of contracting all strains and avoids a severe course of the disease.

To date, 629,000 Vologda residents have been vaccinated with the first component, 595,000 with the second, including 109,000 revaccinated.
