
Over the past day, 890 people have died from coronavirus in Russia, according to the data of the operational headquarters for combating infection.
This is a new record since the start of the pandemic. The previous one was set on October 1, when 887 people died. Then the daily number of deaths updated highs for four days in a row, from September 28. For the first time, the indicator crossed the mark of 800 deaths on August 13.
In total, 209,918 people died in Russia, according to the headquarters. Rosstat, which also takes into account those cases where the coronavirus led to fatal complications of another disease or was detected after death, reported 376.5 thousand deaths.
Most people died in the last 24 hours in Moscow (65, for the entire time of the pandemic - 29.1 thousand), another 59 deaths occurred in St. Petersburg (22 thousand during the pandemic), 46 - in the Sverdlovsk region (6, 4 thousand) and 31 - to Rostovskaya (6.8 thousand).
In addition, in Russia, for the second day in a row, more than 25 thousand cases of COVID-19 are detected per day. So, on Sunday, 25,769 infected people were registered, of which 4.2 thousand were detected in Moscow, 2.4 thousand in St. Petersburg, 1.6 thousand in the Moscow region. In total, 7,586,536 cases of infection were recorded in the country.
