Governor Sergei Tsivilev decided to postpone the introduction of QR codes for the tourism sector, as it "is just getting on its feet." He also took part in the opening of a ski resort in Sheregesh.

The Kuzbass authorities have decided to postpone until January 20 next year the introduction of QR codes and PCR tests for checking into hotels and other accommodation facilities. It is reported by TASS.

These measures, aimed at combating the spread of coronavirus infection, were to take effect from November 15. The governor of the Kemerovo region Sergey Tsivilev explained that the postponement occurred in order to support the tourism industry. However, he noted that tourists over the age of 60 will not be exempt from these concessions.

The head of the region noted that for the tourism industry of Kuzbass, which is “just getting on its feet”, the introduction of a QR code system is a serious limitation and will negatively affect the development of the hospitality industry. On the other hand, as Tsivilev noted, “healthy young people” usually come to ski resorts, and the introduction of restrictions in terms of the epidemic process will not have an effect.

On the morning of November 13, Tsivilev signed an agreement with the head of UMMC-Zastroyshchik (an enterprise of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC) Evgeny Mordovin, according to which the company plans to invest 112 billion rubles by 2036 in the construction of multifunctional tourist areas Green Mountain and Panorama "on the territory of the Sheregesh ski resort. Construction of the project will begin in June 2022. The project is planned to be implemented in sector "F" on two sites with an area of 140 hectares. The total area of the objects being implemented is estimated at 1.4 million square meters of housing and commercial premises, which will to create 3.5 thousand new jobs for the residents of the region.During this time, the project will allocate 3.8 billion rubles to the budgets of various levels.

During the business program on the occasion of the start of the new ski season at the Sheregesh resort, Deputy General Director of Novaport Evgeny Yankilevich said that the implementation of the project for the construction of an airfield near the resort (in September, RBC wrote that Oleg Deripaska’s En + structure and Novaport proposed two concepts of the airport) will require from 6 to 8.5 billion rubles. from the federal budget for the runway and other airfield infrastructure. "Why such a difference? We tend to think that 6 billion, because we expect to use local materials, inert in the first place. This will seriously save money," Yankilevich explained.
