US court upholds mandatory vaccination of employees of large companies

The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Ohio has allowed the mandatory vaccination of employees of large companies against COVID-19 . This is reported by The Washington Post.

On November 4, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA, part of the US Department of Labor) required all companies based in the country with more than 100 employees to vaccinate their employees against coronavirus no later than January 4, 2022. In response, 11 states challenged the government's decision.

The coalition of states that opposed mandatory vaccination, as well as calling for an end to this procedure, included Missouri, Arizona, Nebraska, Iowa, Arkansas, Montana, New Hampshire, South Dakota, North Dakota, Alaska and Wyoming.

In early November, an appeals court in the state of Texas suspended the government's decision. The court's decision was made in connection with "serious legislative and constitutional issues."
