Four dead and 875,000 homes out of power due to thunderstorms in Canada

After a series of dangerous thunderstorms in the provinces of Canada, four people died, reports CBC News, citing police.

One person died in Ontario after a tree fell on a trailer. In the same place, a tree fell on a 70-year-old woman. One person died in Ottawa, and in neighboring Quebec, a 51-year-old woman drowned in a river when her boat capsized.

Electricity companies Hydro One and Hydro-Quebec tweeted that 340,000 homes were left without power in Ontario and 535,000 in Quebec.

Environment Canada has warned of wind gusts of up to 100 km/h in Quebec and a snowstorm in Nunavut. The meteorological agency recorded a wind of 120 km / h at the Ottawa airport.

The death toll from the storm "Agaton" in the Philippines exceeded 160 people

In mid-April, tropical storm Agathon (Megi) in the Philippines killed 167 people and left 110 missing. Due to the storm, 1.9 million people were evacuated.
