Exports of beef, lamb and goat MEAT from Turkey are limited due to inflation rising by 54% in February. As a result, meat prices rose by almost 50% in the Turkish market in March. Turkish suppliers are prohibited from exporting meat from cattle, sheep and goats to all countries except the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Azerbaijan and the Nakhichevan Autonomous Region, the Cumhuriyet newspaper reported, citing a circular from the Ministry of Commerce. Currently, a kilo of ground beef costs about $5.60, and analysts are predicting a further increase in meat prices by up to 30% until mid-summer.
