"Drunk has no place on the road!" - under this name, the State traffic inspectorate will carry out from March 4 to March 9 a set of preventive measures aimed at preventing and suppressing the facts of driving vehicles by drunk drivers, as well as violations of traffic rules by drunk road users. BelTA was informed about this by the senior inspector of agitation and propaganda of the OGAI of the Partizansky District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk Kristina Kharitonchik.

“As part of a set of measures, traffic police officers will supervise traffic in an enhanced mode in order to prevent the facts of driving while intoxicated. especially in the evening and at night," the traffic police said.

According to the Code of Administrative Offenses, administrative measures for drunk driving up to 0.8 ppm inclusive, a fine of 100 basic units and deprivation of the right to engage in certain activities for a period of 3 years is imposed, more than 0.8 ppm - 200 basic units of a fine with deprivation of the right to engage in certain activity for a period of 5 years. For repeated drunk driving within a year, the offender is subject to criminal liability, with special confiscation of the vehicle that was driven while intoxicated, regardless of ownership.

According to Article 18.20 of the code, for violations of traffic rules by a pedestrian, a person driving a bicycle, a horse-drawn vehicle or a person participating in traffic and not driving a vehicle - entails a fine in the amount of 1 to 3 basic units. Violation of traffic rules by persons specified in part 1 of the article, committed while intoxicatedor in a state caused by the consumption of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues, toxic or other intoxicating substances, and exactly the refusal to undergo a test (examination) in the prescribed manner to determine the state of alcoholic intoxication or a state caused by the consumption of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues - entail the imposition of a fine in the amount of 3 to 5 basic units.

For 2 months of the year, employees of the Partizansky District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk detained 40 drunk drivers and 85 drunk pedestrians.
