Law enforcement officers have identified the suspects, BelTA was told by the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.
Having analyzed these crimes, police officers noted that the main reasons and conditions for committing this category of thefts are carelessness and excessive gullibility, drunkenness, improperly fortified residential premises, and the lack of a security alarm.
For example, a 30-year-old previously convicted resident of the Pruzhany district illegally entered three private houses, from where he stole jewelry, things,
money and
food . In all cases, the attacker entered the homes through windows, taking advantage of the absence of the owners and the lack of security alarm equipment in the premises. Two thefts were committed on the territory of the Pruzhany district, not far from the village where he lives

When committing the last crime, the man, in addition to valuables, took the car keys. On the way home in someone else's car, the criminal lost control and drove into a ditch. Nevertheless, the man got out of the car on his own and went home on foot, where he was detained by officers of the Pruzhany District Department of Internal Affairs. A medical examination showed the presence of 1.5 ppm of
alcohol in the blood. In communication with law enforcement officers, the detainee admitted to his crime and said that he planned to sell the stolen property, including the stolen car. As
it turned out, his action was motivated by losing his entire salary in online sports
betting . Some of the stolen property was confiscated and a criminal case was initiated.
