Minsk resident sentenced to 4 years in prison for drunk driving accident

According to the investigators, on the afternoon of July 3, a 43-year-old resident of Minsk, driving drunk in a Nissan car along a dirt and gravel road in the Osipovichi district, did not choose a safe speed, developing it to 82 km/h. As a result, on a wet road, his car skidded. He left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

As a result of an accident, the passengers of the car - women aged 44 and 67 - suffered serious bodily injuries. The driver was also injured. According to the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, he was also found to have serious bodily injuries. The minor passenger suffered the least of all, who was diagnosed with a bruise and abrasions.

According to a medical examination, the concentration of alcohol in the blood of the driver was 1.7 ppm. A man in February of this year was deprived of the right to drive for a trip while intoxicated.

The investigator interrogated the accused and the witnesses, experts of the SCSE conducted expert studies, which were studied and attached to the materials of the criminal case.

The actions of a 43-year-old resident of Minsk were qualified by investigators under Part 4 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code.

The court of first instance sentenced the man to 4 years in prison to be served in a penal colony in a settlement and with deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to driving vehicles for 6 years. The car is subject to special confiscation by a court decision.
