Sowing campaign started in Kuzbass

Agrarians of Kuzbass start the sowing campaign - with a slight delay due to a long and cold spring.
Sowing of spring wheat, oats, barley and peas was started by the farmers of Guryevskiy, Krapivinskiy, Leninsk-Kuznetskiy, Novokuznetskiy, Chebulinskiy and Prokopyevskiy districts. Preparatory work is still being carried out in the taiga territories.
“This year, farmers are faced with the task of weeding out as soon as possible so that the crop has time to ripen. This year we are increasing the sown area to 943,000 hectares. This will allow the region to be even more independent of food supplies from outside,” Governor Sergei Tsivilev stressed.
103.6 million rubles have been allocated to support agricultural producers for carrying out agrotechnological work this year. Farms are provided with everything necessary: fertilizers, seeds, machinery.
The sown area in Kuzbass has been increased by 72.4 thousand hectares since 2018. Including the sown area under grain crops - by 17.5% (up to 628.4 thousand hectares). The areas allocated for industrial crops have almost doubled: from 82.5 thousand to 157.7 thousand hectares.
