The United States and Britain, following the European Union, imposed sanctions against Belarus

CANADA and the United Kingdom, following the EU, imposed sanctionsagainst Belarus. The United States also accepted the new package: the HEAD of the KGB of the republic, Lukashenka's press secretary and the police chief of MINSK fell under their restrictions.

The United States imposed sanctions against five organizations and 16 citizens of Belarus, according to the website of the US Treasury.

Among those who fell under the restrictions are the press secretary of the President of Belarus Natalya Eismont, the speaker of the upper house of parliament Natalya Kochanova, the commander of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Nikolai Karpenkov, Prosecutor General Andrei Shved, the chairman of the KGB Ivan Tertel, the commander of the KGB special unit "Alpha" Sergei Zubkov, and also head of the Minsk police Mikhail Grib and Deputy Minister of Justice Sergei Kalinovsky.

All listed persons are included in the SDN sanctions list. Its defendants are prohibited from entering the United States, their assets in the country, if any, must be blocked, and it is also forbidden to conduct any business and transactions with these persons.

US restrictions have also been imposed on the internal troops and the main department for combating organized crime and corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, the KGB of the republic, the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Berestoblast Executive Committee and the pre-trial detention center on Akrestina Street.

Lukashenka and Gutseriev's daughter-in-law fell under new EU sanctions on Belarus Politics

New sanctions against Belarus in connection with the forced landing of the Ryanair aircraft and the detention in Minsk of the former editor-in-chief of the TELEGRAM channel xxxxx Roman Protasevich were also introduced by the European Union. The list includes 78 people, including the head of state's son and daughter-in-law and businessman Mikhail Gutseriev. Among the enterprises of Belarus that are under EU restrictions are MAZ, BelAZ, New Oil Company, Sokhra, Bremino Group, Globalcustommanagement and Logex.

Following the EU, restrictions on the Belarusian authorities were also introduced by Canada and the United Kingdom. The Canadian list includes 17 individuals, including Karpenkov, Shved, Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Maxim Ryzhenkov, and DIRECTOR of the Aviation Department of the Republic's Ministry of Transport and Communications. Among the companies on the list are Belaeronavigatsia, BelAZ, Bremino Group, New Oil Company and MAZ.

London imposed sanctions against 11 individuals and two organizations of Belarus. Under them, in particular, were the head of the Ministry of Transport and Communications Aleksey Avramenko, the commander of the air force and air defense forces of the Armed Forces Igor Golub and his deputy Andrei Gurtsevich, as well as the general director of Belaeronavigatsia Leonid Churo (they are also included in the Canadian list). Among the legal entities included in the sanctions list are the state enterprise Belaeronavigatsia and BNK Ltd, controlled by the state-owned Belarusian Oil Company (BNK).

The European Union, the United States, Great Britain and Canada imposed sanctions against Belarus after the presidential elections in the republic, held in 2020. In the West, the results of the vote were considered falsified and criticized the actions of the authorities of the republic during the dispersal of the rallies. Lukashenko stated that the elections were held legally, and the protests in the country were led from abroad.

The incident with the Ryanair plane, which was heading from Athens to Vilnius, led to new sanctions from the EU and the usa against Belarus, but after the bomb was reported, it landed urgently in Minsk. Information about the mining was not confirmed. While the liner was in Belarus, two passengers were removed from the flight - Protasevich and his girlfriend, Russian Sofya Sapega. During interrogation, she later stated that she was the administrator of the Black Book of Belarus Telegram channel, which published the personal data of the security forces.

Protasevich and Sapieha were arrested. In the West, they demanded their release, calling the Ryanair landing incident unacceptable. In turn, Lukashenka said that the crew independently decided to land the liner in Minsk. In his opinion, Western countries are using this incident to “rock the situation” in Belarus to the level of August 2020, when mass protests began in the country.
