According to analysts, in the event of sanctions, the share of key manufacturers in the Russian market will fall from more than 80% to 10-20%.

Prices for devices of the largest brands will increase by 15-20%, says Alexander Surkov, head of the center. Unauthorized intermediaries will increase parallel imports (importing some types of goods without the permission of brand owners) of original models from neighboring countries, he believes. The import of phones from Chinese and Russian brands will also grow, “primarily private labels of retail chains and telecom operators,” Surkov said.

The GS Group admits that the supply of smartphones to Russia may decrease even in the absence of sanctions - due to the fall in the purchasing power of the population. According to the analysts' report, which is based on foreign trade statistics, in 2021, 35.2 million smartphones worth 832 billion rubles were imported into the country. This year, exports may reach 34.9 million units, they believe.
