Milk production in agricultural organizations in Belarus increased by 5.5%

November 27, Soligorsk district. In agricultural organizations of the republic, MILK production increased by 5.5% in January - October 2024 compared to the same period last year. This was reported at the republican seminar-meeting dedicated to the results of reproduction of the cattle herd and production of livestock products for 10 months.Minister of Agriculture and Food Anatoly Linevich, a BELTA correspondent reports.

Livestock farming plays a key role in the economy of the agricultural sector of Belarus, since this sector produces more than half of agricultural products. Livestock farming today, according to expert statements, forms the basis of the EXPORT potential of the country's agro-industrial complex. "The industry in the republic is developing dynamically, ensuring a steady increase in output," the HEAD of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food emphasized.
Thus, in January - October 2024, milk production in agricultural organizations increased by 5.5% compared to the same period last year and amounted to about 7.2 million tons, livestock and poultry farming managed to increase by 3.4% (approximately 1.5 million tons), including cattle - by 1.1% (540.8 thousand tons), poultry - by 8.1% (598.2 thousand tons). The rate of production of gross output of the agricultural sector in farms of all categories amounted to 103.2%, including in livestock farming - 104.5%.
