The owners of the shopping center withdrew a letter to Sobyanin with a request not to close food courts

The Russian Council of Shopping Centers (RSTC) withdrew a letter addressed to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin asking them not to suspend the work of food courts. This was reported to RBC by the managing DIRECTOR of RSTC Oleg Voitsekhovsky.

On Saturday, June 12, Sobyanin announced new restrictions due to the increase in the incidence of covid-19 , in particular, the suspension of food courts in the shopping center from June 13 to 20. After that, the RSTC sent a letter to the mayor with a request to give the food courts the opportunity to continue working with the restrictions necessary due to the CORONAVIRUS.

“A letter with a request not to suspend the work of food courts dated June 12, 2021 <...> was withdrawn due to the inconsistency of the position of the RSTC management bodies with the text of the letter sent to the mayor,” the message says.

Why RSTC decided to change its position after sending the letter, the representative of the Union did not explain.
