Bashkiria introduces self-isolation for elderly unvaccinated against COVID-19

In Bashkiria, from Wednesday, October 13, mandatory self-isolation is introduced for residents of the region over 65 who have not been vaccinated against coronavirus. This was announced by the head of the republic Radiy Khabirov at an operational meeting in the government.

“We agreed at the operational headquarters, I will sign a decree today - from October 13, we will introduce a self-isolation regime for people who have reached the age of 65 and older. This applies to those who are not vaccinated, ”Khabirov explained.

According to the head of the region, an analysis of the Republican Ministry of Health showed that mostly people over 60 who have concomitant serious illnesses die from coronavirus in Bashkiria.

On October 11, 35 patients died from coronavirus in Bashkiria per day, which became the daily record for this region since the beginning of the pandemic. The total number of deaths from the infection reached 1913. Over the entire period of the pandemic, almost 79 thousand people became infected with coronavirus in the region (+610 per day).
