
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will HEAD the Russian delegation to the UN General Assembly in September this year. The corresponding order of President Vladimir Putin is published on the portal of legal information.
“To approve the following composition of the Russian delegation for participation in the work of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly: Lavrov S.V. - Minister of Foreign Affairs of RUSSIA, permanent member of the Security Council of Russia (head of the delegation),” the document says.
In total, the delegation will include ten people, including: Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin, Chairman of the International Committee of the Federation Council Grigory Karasin, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.

The high-level week of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly will be held from 20 to 26 September. This year it will be held in person, unlike the previous two years, when due to the covid-19 pandemic, some performances were pre-recorded on video.
On July 15, the UN General Assembly published the provisional agenda for the session (*pdf.). According to it, representatives of the countries will discuss economic growth, maintaining peace and security, including the prevention of armed conflicts, the development of Africa, the promotion of human rights, humanitarian cooperation, disarmament, the fight against drugs, crime and terrorism.
Also, within the framework of the General Assembly, the speeches of the Presidents of the United States and Ukraine Joe Biden and Vladimir Zelensky are planned, TASS reported with reference to the preliminary program. Thus, the speech of the President of the United States is scheduled for the first half of the day on September 20, and the speech of the President of Ukraine - for the afternoon of September 21. The Russian delegation is due to speak on 24 September.
