The Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed at the legislative level to oblige the use of Russian equipment as a priority, if it is available and available on the market, for cryptocurrency mining in RUSSIA. This, as reported by RIA Novosti, was stated by the HEAD of the ministry Denis Manturov, responding to a package of proposals from State Duma deputy Anton Gorelkin on the regulation of cryptocurrency.
“In order to level the risks of information security, it is proposed to establish a legislative requirement for the predominant use of Russian hardware and software systems, radio-electronic products and software, if available and available on the market, for industrial production (“mining”) in Russia of cryptocurrency assets,” says in the message of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The Central Bank has linked the legalization of cryptocurrencies with the financial pyramid
On January 20, the Bank of Russia released a report for public discussions, in which it proposed to introduce a ban on the issuance, circulation and exchange of cryptocurrencies in Russia, as well as on the organization of these operations. The regulator also considers it necessary to ban the mining of digital assets and start monitoring Russian investments in cryptocurrency on foreign trading platforms.
Gorelkin criticized this proposal of the Central Bank. According to him, the ban on cryptocurrencies could negatively affect the high-tech development of Russia. In early March, Gorelkin proposed to the state to support the creation of domestic cryptocurrency exchanges. The deputy believes that under the conditions of sanctions, when many crypto exchanges refuse transactions to Russian card carriers, the state should create its own separate crypto infrastructure.
