Russians were allowed to take only one PCR test for CORONAVIRUS after returning from abroad. The corresponding decree was signed by the HEAD of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.

“Within three calendar days from the date of arrival on the territory of the Russian Federation, undergo a single laboratory test for COVID-19 by PCR. Until the results of a laboratory test for COVID-19 by PCR are obtained, observe the isolation regime at the place of residence (stay),” the document says. This applies to citizens who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 or have not been ill in the past six months.

Citizens returning from abroad were obliged to undergo PCR testing for coronavirus twice from May 1. Initially, only those who arrived from Turkey and Tanzania had to take two tests, and from May 1, this requirement was extended to all Russians returning from abroad.

According to the decision of Rospotrebnadzor, both PCR tests had to be passed within five days from the date of return with an interval of at least a day between them. Citizens must post the results of the COVID-19 test on the public services portal. Before receiving a negative result, it was necessary to observe self-isolation.

In June, the agency proposed to allow those who had been vaccinated or had an infection not to take two PCR tests when entering RUSSIA. However, this requires confirmation of the presence of antibodies.
