Advantages of "Dostoevo". How the farm managed to take one of the leading places in the agricultural sector of the region

This farm needs no introduction: for many years it has been one of the leaders in the agricultural sector of the region and is considered an elite one. Having visited Dostoevo, we were convinced that with the right approach to the organization of labor in the outback, you can live perfectly!

The Brest region differs in many ways from other regions of Belarus. If in the central part of the country the villages are small, then closer to the south, almost every rural settlement looks like a small town in which life is seething. Dostoevo is no exception. Now more than 700 people live in the agro-town. There is a school, a club and much more. The settlement is the center of the economy of the same name, which has been headed by Vadim Pernach for several years.

- I am a local, so the agricultural sector of the region is familiar, - says Vadim Nikolayevich. - "Dostoevo" headed about three years ago. The team was very warmly welcomed. They helped explain some of the subtleties. It also helped that I got the farm in very good condition. An excellent foundation for further development was!

In the year when Vadim Pernach headed OAO "Dostoevo", the enterprise was waiting for a transformation: then the agricultural organization "Druzhilovichi" was attached to it. The increase amounted to about three thousand hectares! Approximately the same area is occupied by Dostoevo itself. But in terms of indicators, the annexed lands lagged behind by about one and a half times.

With this task, the new leader gradually managed to cope. Now the farm has six thousand hectares of farmland, but specializes in the production of milk and meat.

– We have 5240 heads of cattle. Of these, almost 1,700 are dairy cows kept on three dairy farms. Almost the entire volume of milk is rented as an extra variety. We breed animals of the Aberdeen Angus breed, the meat of which is valued for tenderness, juiciness, "marbling".

The main task of plant growing is to provide feed, produce seeds of malting barley and some legumes - "Dostoevo" has the status of an elite farm.

Everything else is pretty standard. There are vast areas for rapeseed and corn, recently they began to grow sunflower, - Vadim Nikolayevich notes.

Just over 300 people work at Dostoevo, and some of them come here from neighboring regions. By Belarusian standards, the enterprise is quite large.

– Work, as in principle in agriculture, is difficult. I will say banal words: not everyone is on the shoulder. But I have confidence in my people. Everyone knows the business, tries to give all the best, - Vadim Nikolaevich notes.

A team of livestock breeders works at the local dairy farm: Lyudmila Mozol, Anatoly Kovalik and Lyubov Kukharchuk. We ask about the features of the work.

“Taking care of animals is always difficult and responsible,” Lyudmila says. – After all, the final quality of products depends on our efforts.

Employees assure that the conditions at the enterprise are very comfortable, and salaries are not lower than city ones.

“For us, this is the motivation to work even better. Especially when you see that the leader appreciates you. In this regard, we can say that we have drawn a lucky ticket, - says Anatoly Kovalik.

There are also old-timers on the farm.

Oleg Pomazansky, chief agronomist of OAO Dostoevo, has been in the agricultural industry for decades.

- The main task is to grow crops necessary for the economy within certain agrotechnical terms. And each year has its own scenario, because they have not yet learned how to influence the weather. For example, today it was a protracted cool spring. However, in terms of herbs and crops, everything is more or less good. Look how pleasing to the eye is the rapeseed field, - Oleg Pomazansky points to the endless yellow expanse.

The specialist tries to keep up with the times and introduce new technologies.

– We have crops that are not typical for many farms, such as malting barley. To get an excellent harvest, you need to make a lot of effort. And recently we managed to break the stereotype that sunflower does not ripen in Belarus due to the specifics of our climate. We have proved the opposite - the yields are excellent, - says the chief agronomist.

Although Dostoevo is far from the main roads, life here does not seem provincial. You will be surprised, but construction work is in full swing in several places of the agro-town at once. Not far from the improvised center, a small cafe has already acquired its first outlines. It is built just for the economy.

– We want to make a small establishment both for our employees, where we can spend joint holidays, and for the residents of the agro-town. We miss him very much.

As for the further development of the economy, Vadim Nikolaevich argues as follows:

– It is not in vain that people say: there is no limit to perfection. Therefore, our economy faces an understandable, but difficult task: to constantly develop and increase momentum. Our people are very hardworking and responsible. And all success is their merit. It is important to improve the material and technical base, on which a lot also depends. I am sure that there are still many heights ahead, which we will definitely conquer.

The enterprise has a small farm where a dozen and a half horses are kept. Breed - Belarusian draft, which is traditional in our area. These horses are indispensable for transport and agricultural work.

You must have paid attention to the toponym Dostoevo. And indeed: he is directly connected with the famous Fyodor Dostoevsky. The great writer himself did not visit the lands of the modern Ivanovsky district. But his ancestors had a family nest here.

What's a job without a hearty lunch? The farm has its own canteen, which provides dozens of employees with hot meals every day.
