In the Nizhny Novgorod region for 9 months, meat production increased by 4%

Agricultural organizations and farms of the Nizhny Novgorod region for 9 months of 2021 produced 110.3 thousand tons of MEAT, which is 4.2 thousand tons, or 4%, more than in the corresponding period of 2020. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Nikolai Denisov.

“Now the region is provided with meat and meat products of its own production by 48%, according to the doctrine of food security, this is not enough. To increase this indicator, the region is working to increase the production of meat of all categories. For example, pig-breeding complexes are being built to increase pork,” said Nikolai Denisov.

He noted that two large pig-breeding complexes are already operating in the Vadsky and Bolshemurashkinsky districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region, each of them annually produces 21,000 tons of pork. Similar facilities are currently being built in the Sergachsky and Ardatovsky districts. Their commissioning will allow the region to increase pork self-sufficiency from 63% to 118%.

“In order to increase the supply of poultry meat, the modernization of poultry farms continues, as a result of which their production capacity is expanding. In addition, a project is being implemented in the Pavlovsky District to build two poultry houses, which this year received a grant of 24 million rubles. At the same time, grants were also provided for projects for the development of beef cattle breeding, their implementation helps to increase beef production in the region,” Nikolay Denisov added.

The minister clarified that 13 farmers from Tonkinsky, Varnavinsky, Sharangsky, Vetluzhsky, Tonshaevsky, Krasnobakovsky, Sosnovsky and Shakhunsky districts received a grant from Agrostartup for the development of beef cattle breeding in 2021. The amount of one grant was from 4.2 million to 5.1 million rubles. Also, a grant of 4 million rubles for the development of beef cattle breeding was received by a family farm from the Sharangsky district.

Recall that the grant competition "Agrostartup" is held within the framework of the national project "Small and medium-sized businesses and support for individual entrepreneurial initiatives." In 2021, 24 Nizhny Novgorod farmers became grant recipients. The total grant support amounted to about 100 million rubles.

The national project "Small and Medium Enterprises and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives" was developed in accordance with the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. it involves consulting, information, property, financial support for entrepreneurs.

This year, more than 1.6 billion rubles of federal and regional subsidies will be allocated to support livestock breeding in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Funds are provided to support MILK production in the form of a compensatory subsidy for 1 kg of sold milk of own production and an incentive subsidy for one HEAD of cows; to support livestock breeding - maintenance of breeding stock, acquisition of breeding young animals and artificial insemination of cattle; as well as reimbursement of costs for the construction and reconstruction of livestock facilities.
