
Food cards can be introduced in RUSSIA to stimulate the consumption of domestic products and as an additional measure to support low-income families. This was stated by RT Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade Vladimir Gutenev.
“Russia now fully provides itself with the necessary food. Moreover, we quite often regulate the EXPORT flow with the help of quotas, since our agricultural products are very, very competitive,” the deputy noted.
According to him, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has long been trying to work out the possibility of introducing food cards in Russia. This is necessary to stimulate the consumption of domestic products and support low-income families. However, this will not be a forced, but an additional measure.

He believes that in 2022 the growth rate of consumer prices will remain close to 6-7%. The same can be true for food products.
In September 2020, the HEAD of the State Duma Committee on Labor and Social Policy, Yaroslav Nilov, announced the start of the development of a bill providing for the provision of a food certificate for a fixed amount for low-income citizens.
