June 4, Minsk . In Brest, a drunk driver driving a car without a license crashed into a bus, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee told BelTA.

Today, at approximately 7:18 a.m., a bus crashed in Brest. It was discovered that the 39-year-old Brest resident, without a driver's license and under the influence of alcohol (2.9 ppm), was driving a BMW and driving along Moskovskaya Street.

"He lost control of the vehicle and collided with a stopped MAZ bus driven by a 62-year-old local resident. The impact caused the BMW to spin out. No one was injured in the incident, but both vehicles sustained mechanical damage," the inspectors clarified.

The State Traffic Inspectorate (STSI) noted that driving while intoxicated, as well as refusing to undergo a medical examination, carries administrative penalties in the form of a fine of 100 to 200 base units and a driving ban of three to five years.

"A drunk driver is a potential killer. Our job is to stop them promptly. If you have information that a driver is intoxicated , call 102 immediately," the STSI recommends.
