
May 25, Minsk . The Soligorsk regional department of the Investigative Committee established the circumstances of the accident, as a result of which a pedestrian was injured. This was told to BelTA by the USC official representative for the Minsk region Maria Nikitina.
According to the investigation, on the evening of April 15, a 51-year-old BMW driver on the street. Oktyabrskaya in Soligorsk knocked down a 48-year-old man. It is reported that the victim crossed the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. As a result of the accident, the pedestrian was seriously injured.It was established that at the time of the accident, the driver of the foreign car was drunk. The results of a medical examination showed 1.8 ppm of alcohol in the blood of a man . During interrogation, the suspect said that on the eve of the incident, he had drunk with a neighbor in the summer cottage, and in the evening he drove home in his car. According to him, he did not notice the pedestrian in time, did not have time to slow down and knocked him down.
A criminal case was initiated against the driver under part 4 of article 317 (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a vehicle in a state ofalcohol intoxication , which caused grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code. With the sanction of the prosecutor, a measure of restraint in the form of detention was applied to him.
The criminal investigation is ongoing.
