Putin called US sanctions against Nord Stream 2 senseless

It would be pointless for the United States to impose sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline when it is almost completed. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the TV channel "Russia 24".

“It was pointless to continue to resist and impose sanctions, because we completed it,” Putin said.

In the president's opinion, everything that the United States had previously done against the pipeline was contrary to European interests. However, Washington continues its line for its own benefit.

Putin announced the completion of the laying of the first string of Nord Stream 2 on June 4. The second line is planned to be completed by August. “Well, it seems like they abandoned such sanctions. But they will introduce it in such a way, at such a pace and where they deem it necessary, absolutely ignoring the interests of other participants in international communication, ”the Russian leader said.
