The stocks of EpiVacCorona available in the regions meet their needs, Assistant Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Alexei Kuznetsov told RBC.

“Preparations for vaccination against COVID-19 are purchased based on need, taking into account indications for use and contraindications. The current remnants of Epivaccorone drugs fully satisfy the existing need for them, ”said the assistant to the head of the Ministry of Health.

Earlier, Vedomosti, relying on data from the Rospotrebnadzor register of permits for the introduction of immunological drugs into civil circulation, reported that in 2022, not a single batch of EpiVacCorona and EpiVacCorona-N COVID-19 vaccines were distributed to the country's regions.

Sources in one of the scientific institutes told reporters about the difficulties with the supply of EpiVacCorona, as well as the risks of suspending the production of the drug. Interlocutors in the State Duma and one of the pharmaceutical companies told Vedomosti that the vaccine has not been delivered to the regions for a long time.

Journalists also interviewed 85 regional ministries and departments of health, where they were told that the last shipments of the drug were made in December last year. The respondents could not name the timing of the next deliveries.
