Elysee Palace announces new French government

Jean-Yves Le Drian was replaced as foreign minister by the French ambassador in London,and the Minister of the Armed Forces became the Minister of Overseas Territories of France

The heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Economy of France, Gerald Darmanin and Bruno Le Mer, retained their posts in the new government. The new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers was announced by Secretary General of the Office of the President Alexis Kohler, broadcast on Twitter.

Jean-Yves Le Drian was replaced by Catherine Colonnat, who served as Ambassador of the Republic to Great Britain, as Minister of Foreign Affairs. The post of Minister of the Armed Forces was taken by Sebastian Lecornu, who had previously been Minister of Overseas Territories, he replaced Florence Parly in this post.

Bridget Bourguignon became Minister of HEALTH and Pape Ndiaye became Minister of Education.

French government to be led by a woman for the first time in 30 years
