November 24, MINSK . The Investigative Department of the Criminal Investigation Department for Minsk established the circumstances of a traffic accident involving a drunk driver. BELTA was informed about this by the Investigative Committee.

On September 16, 2023, at about 4.30, a 36-year-old man was driving an Audi car along Maxim Bogdanovich Street. While entering the roundabout at Bangalore Square, he lost control and collided with a BMW car that was waiting for the traffic light to clear. The strong impact threw the vehicles off the roadway.

As a result of the accident, a 46-year-old passenger in the BMW was seriously injured. According to experts, the HEAD injuries he received during the accident resulted in a mental disorder.

it was established that the Audi driver was in a state ofALCOHOL intoxication - the concentration of ethyl alcohol in the blood was more than 1.6 ppm. During interrogation, he explained that the night before he had drunk strong drinks with friends at a billiards club. Around three o'clock in the morning, the man decided that he could get home on his own.

Investigators found that the defendant was moving at a speed exceeding 100 km/h with a limit of 60 km/h. On the way home, the man fell asleep and lost control of the car.

The driver was charged under Part 4 of Art. 317 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a vehicle while intoxicated, resulting in negligence in causing serious bodily harm). A preventive measure in the form of detention was applied to him.
