Currently, all agro-industrial enterprises in the Ivanovo region are operating as usual, the increase in production contributes to maintaining a stable price situation in the food market, the Department of Agriculture and Food of the region noted.
According to the director of the regional department of agriculture and food, Denis Cherkesov, in the Ivanovo region, agriculture has shown positive dynamics in recent years. Agrarians of the region close a significant part of the domestic consumption of dairy products, the need for meat products is almost 40% closed, the poultry farms of the region fully meet the needs of the population in egg products.
According to the results of January 2022, the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in agricultural organizations increased by 14.4% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 3.1 thousand tons. Including for cattle, the indicator increased by 1.5 times, in pig breeding - by 11.3%, for poultry - by 10.3%. Milk production remains at the level of last year - about 10 thousand tons, egg production amounted to 36.3 million pieces (+0.7%).
“The main task in the near future is the timely and high-quality sowing campaign. This year, the total sown area is planned to exceed 200,000 hectares, which is more than in 2021. The increase in sown areas is predicted due to the grain group, potatoes and vegetables,” Denis Cherkesov emphasized.
The situation in providing agricultural producers with seeds, machinery, fuels and lubricants and mineral fertilizers is under constant control of the regional department of agriculture and food. State support funds for spring field work will be brought to the region's farmers by the end of March, the ministry said.
