Production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight also increased by 2.6% to 7.6 million tons.

According to Rosstat, at the end of June 2023, the number of cattle in farms of all categories amounted to 18.2 million heads (1.1% less compared to the corresponding date of the previous year), of which 7.8 million cows (by 0.8% less). The number of pigs amounted to 28.9 million (3.8% more), sheep and goats - 23 million (0.9% less).
