A full recovery of the Russian economy from the effects of the CORONAVIRUS pandemic will occur before the end of this year, said Maxim Oreshkin, aide to the president, former Minister of Economic Development, in the studio of the Knowledge Society at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

“2021 is the year of the full recovery of the economy from the crisis. By the end of this year, this recovery will take place,” Oreshkin said.

According to him, the economy in RUSSIA is fully restored. The main indicator of recovery should be the unemployment rate in the country, he explained.

So, according to the latest data, unemployment was 5.2%, said Oreshkin. According to him, last summer at the peak, this figure was 6.4%. Before the pandemic, unemployment was at the level of 4.5-4.7%.

Among young people, this figure reaches 16.4%. Oreshkin added that the government will develop a special program to support youth employment.
