Alexey Pichugin, the former HEAD of the internal economic security department of Yukos, is currently under quarantine in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center. This was stated by the executive secretary of the Public Monitoring Commission (POC) Alexei Melnikov, reports TASS.
“Today we were in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center. When we asked to invite Aleksey Pichugin, the former head of Yukos' internal economic security department, to us, we were refused. Lefortovo employees explained the refusal by the fact that at the moment, according to the decision of the chief sanitary DOCTOR of the Federal Penitentiary Service, all arriving prisoners must undergo a 21-day quarantine (due to the current restrictions due to the spread of covid-19 - ),” he said.
According to the human rights activist, he informed the prison officer about his vaccination, but he was not allowed to see the accused. “In this case, our rights were violated in terms of unhindered access to places of detention,” he concluded.
