The country has seen a decrease in the incidence of a new coronavirus infection. Compared to the last week of 2021, it has dropped to 10%. Lyubov Avdonina, deputy head of Rospotrebnadzor for the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke about this at a press conference at Tatar-inform news agency.

“Since the 47th week of last year, we have noted a decrease in the incidence of a new coronavirus infection. In the last week of 2021, it was 40%. For the first week of 2022, the decline also continued, but the pace slowed down. Compared to the previous week, the decrease in the incidence is 10%," Avdonina said.

According to her, in December, the incidence of coronavirus infection decreased by 36% compared to November.

“Today we also note a decrease in the number of people seeking medical help for a new coronavirus infection. We believe that this is due to the fact that people are on vacation. It is quite possible that after the New Year holidays the number of applications to medical organizations will increase,” she said.

In total, 91 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the republic over the past day. The total number of people infected with coronavirus in the republic has reached 43,261.
