Russia can supply up to 2.5 thousand tons of turkey meat to the UAE

The estimated potential for turkey supplies from RUSSIA to the UAE is estimated at 2–2.5 thousand tons ($9–10 million), reports the Federal State Budgetary Institution Agroexport. In a message from the department, which was reviewed by sfera.fm, analysts indicated that the main competitors of Russian products in the UAE market are products from Turkey, Brazil, the usa , CANADA and European countries.

Poultry MEAT is in demand in the UAE, as it is included in the diet of most residents and is used in recipes for many traditional dishes, both home-cooked and in HoReCa. Experts also point to the interest of local residents in the cuisine of other countries, which also often includes poultry .

Most modern retail chains offer a wide selection of chilled and frozen poultry meat. At the same time, most of the poultry meat in retail is imported products. Experts point out that domestic poultry production in the country is difficult. This is due to climatic conditions not suitable for agriculture, and an additional reduction in production occurs due to rising prices for imported feed.

Currently, there are more than 40 poultry farms operating in the UAE, mostly producing chicken. Poultry meat production in 2021 amounted to 56.0 thousand tons, which is 3.5% more than in 2020. Import of poultry meat occupies a leading position among all imports of agricultural products in the UAE - it accounts for almost 5% of imports in this industry.
