Belarus extends ban on import of certain goods from Western countries until end of 2025

30 December, MINSK . The government has extended until 31 December 2025 the ban on the import and sale of certain types of goods in Belarus and on the import of services from unfriendly countries on the labeling of imported alcoholic beverages with Belarusian excise duties. The corresponding decision to extend the validity of Council of Ministers Resolutions No. 700 of 6 December 2021 and No. 246 of 22 April 2022 was signed by Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, BELTA learned from the government press service.

The list established by Resolution No. 700 of 6 December 2021 includes certain goods originating from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic and Estonia. These include beer , fermented beverages, skin care products, hair care products, shaving products, oral and dental hygiene products, deodorants, bath compositions, soap, cleaning products, floor carpets, men's textile clothing, footwear with genuine leather uppers, headwear, bedding, tableware, porcelain and glass kitchenware, mattress bases, varnishes, paints, slabs, sheets, plastic films, paper and cardboard labels.

The document also prohibits the import and sale of water, including mineral and carbonated water, from unfriendly countries.

Resolution No. 246 of April 22, 2022 established a ban on the labeling of alcoholic beverages imported into our country on the territory of unfriendly countries.
