Beef is expected to remain highly priced in the coming years, with 2024 seeing some interesting trends in the global market. According to a Rabobank report, US beef production will decline while countries in the Southern Hemisphere will increase production. This could lead to lower prices for MEAT from the Southern Hemisphere, as production cycles and weather conditions in these countries differ from those in the United States.

The US may need to increase beef imports to meet its needs. At the same time, Australia and Brazil plan to increase beef production and exports. it is interesting to note that CHINA is beginning to invest in beef production in Brazil to meet its high demand and purchase meat directly from the enterprises in which it is a shareholder.

Ivan Podgornov, DIRECTOR of the Voronezh Center for Information Support of the Agro-Industrial Complex, emphasized that the global market situation opens up prospects for RUSSIA as a supplier of beef. However, for this it is necessary to actively develop domestic beef cattle breeding. Important steps in this direction are increasing the meat population and restructuring the industry. Currently, the share of beef livestock in the total cattle population in Russia is about 20%, and for the successful development of the industry it is necessary to reach a level of 30-35%. This requires the creation of favorable conditions for attracting investment, changes in customs and tariff policies and increased government support for beef cattle breeding.

Today in China the average level of beef consumption is only 7 kg per person per year, which is significantly lower than in Russia (14 kg/person) and the world average (8.7 kg/person). This indicates potential opportunities for exporting Russian beef to China, especially given the sustainable development of beef cattle breeding in the Voronezh region and other regions of the country.

In conclusion, the growth prospects for beef exports in the Voronezh region look encouraging. It is important to continue to develop domestic beef cattle breeding, attract investment and create favorable conditions for the growth of the industry. Given the changes in the global market and the needs of various countries, Russia has the opportunity to become an important player in the international beef trade.
